The Center for Student Analytics released their first annual Student Insights Report. The Center compiled their research and data from the past three years into a 41-page report, exposing meaningful, data-informed insights into what helps students succeed at Utah State University (USU).

“By releasing this report, we believe university staff, faculty, and students will gain a new perspective into student success,” said Mitchell Colver, manager and senior data analyst at the Center. “Thanks to the collaborations we’ve made with several USU offices and departments, we have discovered key insights that can help optimize the already stellar programs and services we offer to students.”

The report is broken down into five sections, providing important discoveries for each group: students, faculty, leadership, university staff, and future Aggies. Some of the insights revealed in the report are students are more likely to persist toward graduation as the number of classes they take each semester increases, high school GPAs are a stronger predictor of student success than standardized test scores, and students who use campus recreation resources, like the Aggie Recreation Center (ARC), are more likely to graduate.
